Izadi Reserva Rioja 2019

The words "Fine Wine" get tossed around a lot and I believe that there is a misunderstanding of what that means.  A Fine Wine is not about price point. It is about wines that are made with proper grape growing techniques, quality winemaking skills, and also drink incredibly well in the glass.  That can happen in any price point for wine, and this is the perfect example.

 

Izadi is coming up on 40 years in Rioja, growing grapes and producing wines from Alavesa, the smallest appellation in Rioja. Where some of the most sought after vines are located.  While their most recognized wines can be expensive, they are most known for making incredible wines in a more reasonable price point.

The 2019 Reserva Rioja from Izadi not only comes in at an incredible price point to quality, but has some incredible press to back it up.  Scored 91 points from Wine Spectator and was their #1 Spanish Wine under $25!  I am going to be drinking this all Summer, but also save a few because they are going to age incredible well over the next 5 years!
